Sorry, i guess it's not really very obvious.
In what sort of alternate universe is oil going down? Are there some sort of radical new renewable energy sources, so nobody needs oil anymore?

Wouldn't it be even more alternate if the British won the war? Or if Rome never fell? Or...anything really. You can keep going back...
